| • | DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir is one of the prestigious institutes of Jharkhand located in the Shyamali Colony of Ranchi. Shyamali Colony is the residence to the officials and staff of MECON and SAIL, Ranchi. The school has a strength of around 6,500 students and the schooling based on CBSE pattern is offered from Nursery to Std XII. There are 7 sections named A-G in each class till Class Xth. The school runs in two sessions- morning and afternoon for Class XI and XII. This is so primarily because of the large no. of students who apply for admission in the Science stream in the school. The cut-off for admission in Science stream is well above 90%.
The school has a great history with a large no. of alumni at important positions throughout the globe after persuing higher education from institutes like Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian School of Mines, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, RECs, etc. The school gained much of its present attire under the administration of Mr. R.E.Singh, Principal(1983-2000).
