Some of the buildings in Waterloo are replicas of the ones found in Waterloo, Belgium, for example, Potters Barn park buildings. It was formerly an urban district with Seaforth, and then part of Crosby urban district, and is now part of Sefton district. It is a residential district of Edwardian and Victorian villas and terraces, with shops and restaurants and a park facing the sea. It has a railway station and is connected to Liverpool by the "Dock Road". Waterloo is known nationwide for Waterloo R.F.C., a rugby union club.
