The song was written in 1947 by Osvaldo Farrés, and the title in Spanish is "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás".[HTTP ] Nat King Cole, in 1958 sang his version in Spanish (with a heavy American accent). Many others, including Gordon Jenkins, Sonora Matancera, Doris Day, Acerina y su Danzonera, and most recently Cake have also recorded the song.
The Gordon Jenkins version, with Tony Bavaar as vocalist, was recorded on August 12, 1949 and released by Decca Records as catalog number 24720.
The Doris Day version was recorded on November 5, 1964 for Columbia Records and not released as a single, but only on albums.
It has most recently come to fame as the theme song to the British sitcom Coupling.
