| • | Coburg is a railway station on the Upfield railway line. Coburg opened in 1884 and today still remains open. Coburg is accessible via Victoria Street and Hudson Street. This station is in Metcard Zone 1 and is a premium station, meaning that it is staffed from first to last train. Coburg is one of only two station on the Upfield railway line which is premium, the other being Gowrie. Trains occasionaly terminate here at the crossover located on the UP side of the station when the line further DOWN is impassable for whatever reason. Several goods yards were formally located adjacent to the DOWN platform, which was only built in 1995. A large electrical sub-station for the railway line and a large former signal box are located around 200 metres south of the station. The station enjoys by far the most patronage of any station on the Upfield line. Source: [wikipedia: coburg railway station, melbourne]
