| • | Arabi is an unincorporated community located in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana on the East Bank of the Mississippi River, adjacent to the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana within the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan area. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 8,093.
In 2005, the town was destroyed by storm surge and wind associated with Hurricane Katrina which topped the Mississippi River Levee and destroyed the Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet Canal (MRGO) levee. The area was re-flooded weeks later by Hurricane Rita when a temporary levee patch failed.
