| • | Richmond Bridge crosses the River Thames in southwest London, England. Built in 1777 to replace an earlier ferry crossing, the bridge connects the suburb of Richmond upon Thames on the south bank with its north bank neighbour, St. Margarets. As the River Thames deviates from its general east-west direction to form an "S-bend" in this part of London, here the north and south banks are usually referred to as the "Middlesex" and "Surrey" banks, respectively; named after the historic counties to which each side once belonged.
