| • | Mary Frances Elphinstone, Lady Elphinstone (August 30 1883–February 8 1961) was a maternal aunt and a godparent of Elizabeth II.
Born Lady Mary Frances Bowes-Lyon, she was the daughter of Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and the elder sister of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (later Queen Elizabeth). On July 14 1910, Lady Mary married Sidney Elphinstone, 16th Lord Elphinstone and they had three children:
·John Alexander Elphinstone, 17th Lord Elphinstone (1914–1975)
