| • | Umhlanga Rocks is a seaside resort town north of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and is now part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Area, that also includes Durban. It is named after the Mhlanga River (reeds) which reaches the Indian Ocean three kilometres north of the town. In 1972 it joined with the residential township of La Lucia to form the municipality of Umhlanga. Umhlanga hosts many luxury hotels and apartments right on the beach, including the Cabana Beach Hotel, the Beverly Hills Hotel and Umhlanga Sands Hotel. Umhlanga boasts some of the best beaches in the Durban metropolitan area, and is a popular holiday distination for people all over South Africa. The town is within 5 Kilometers of the Gateway Mall, the largest mall in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as Mt. Edgecomb golf resort.
