It was set up in November 1999 (National Law University Act,1999)under the leadership of Dr. N.L. Mitra. By the statute (National University Act,1999), the ex-officio Chancellor of this University is The Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court. The present Vice-Chancellor of this University is Prof. A.K. Koul. Based in Jodhpur (Judicial capital of Rajasthan), it provides a unique atmosphere for learning and research. At undergraduate level, it offers three types of Courses:
