| • | Pierce is a city located in Clearwater County, Idaho. Elias D. Pierce and Wilbur F. Bassett made the first discovery of gold in Idaho, on Orofino Creek (Canal Gulch) in 1880, just one-mile north of the town that is now Pierce. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 617.
