| • | "America, Fuck Yeah" is the theme song to the movie Team America: World Police. The song is similar in style to "Danger Zone", the theme to the 1986 film Top Gun with its emphasis on electric guitar and synthesizer and might be considered a parody of that song or of other 1980s hard rock anthems.The song, which was written by South Park creator Trey Parker, challenges terrorists to "lick my butt and suck on my balls" and satirically praises America for things like its Wal-Marts, McDonald's and slavery. With lyrics like "coming again to save the motherfucking day" and "freedom is the only way", the song is a microcosm of the movie, a satire of America's hubris and nationalistic tendencies. In the movie the song plays whenever Team America leaves their fortress in Mt. Rushmore. At one point the upbeat song is replaced with a slow and sad version (the "Bummer Remix") to represent the internal turmoil being experienced by the team. Because it contains the word "fuck" thirty-seven times, the song received no radio airplay.
