The Bishop of Hereford headed in the Middle Ages and Tudor times the Catholic diocese of Hereford in the Province of Canterbury, in England. The office was created at the foundation of the diocese in 676. The diocese covers the County of Herefordshire, part of the counties of Worcestershire and Shropshire and parts of Powys and Monmouthshire. The see is in the City of Hereford where the seat is located at the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary and Saint Ethelbert which was founded as a cathedral in 676.
