| • | Holt is a town in the county of Clwyd in Wales, United Kingdom. Prior to the reorganisation of local government in the 1970s it was located in the County of Denbighshire.
Located on the River Dee, it has a castle that was built by John de Warenne, who was granted lands by Edward I following the defeat of the Welsh in 1282. It was ruined by the C17. All that remains today are the remants of the walls a doorway and a staircase.
